London: Analyst Green Pool released its first forecast on Monday stating that the global sugar deficit would be small in the 2022-23 period.
According to the analyst, the sugar deficit would be 742,000 tonnes as against the forecast deficit of 2.03 million tonnes in 2021-22.
In 2022-23, global sugar output would increase by 2.02% to 188.98 million tonnes partly reflecting the prospect of increased output in Centre-South Brazil and Thailand.
As per the forecast, global consumption is expected to rise by 1.26% to 188.66 million tonnes.
