Panji: Sugarcane farmers that were depending on the closed Sanjivani Sugar mill met the agriculture department officials and demanded that their pending dues should be cleared on time.
They said that the settlement of old bills is yet pending and the officials should discuss this issue. “The directorate of agriculture had assured us that the matter will be resolved on a priority basis,” said one of the farmers that met these officials.
Senior officials from the department confirmed that the pending payments will be made.
