Ponda: Goa state government will clear the pending cane areas of the sugarcane farmers that have supplied cane to Karnataka based sugar mills through Sanjivani sugar mill. Cooperative Minister Govind Gaude stated that the government will clear dues by May 10.
“We will clear at least 50 per cent of the pending bills to the farmers from government funds,” he said.
According to the media reports, the farmers had supplied 27,000 metric tonne sugarcane to Karnataka’s Laila factory. Covid-19 has impacted the release of cane dues.
“We have discussed the issue with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. we will clear the funds of farmers from state government’s funds by the first week of May or by May 10 and will later adjust the bills from Laila mill,” Gaude said.
