Gonda: Fire destroys sugarcane crops due to short circuit

In the Barjorpurwa area of Gogia village in Gonda’s Parsapur development block, a fire destroyed the sugarcane crop, reported Amar Ujala.

Gogia village head Salikram reported that around 4 PM on Friday, a short circuit in the 132-KV line passing over the fields caused the fire, burning approximately one bigha of sugarcane belonging to Jagdamba Singh alias Malhe, and about one bigha each of Triveni Singh and Ram Prasad Singh.

The villagers, showing courage in the sweltering heat, managed to control the fire through their tireless efforts. Light revenue officer Pawan Kumar Yadav stated that an assessment of the damage would be conducted at the site, and a report would be sent to the government for compensation.
