In an announcement on February 25, the Food Ministry allocated a monthly sugar quota of 23 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) for March 2025, which is lower than the quota allocated in March 2024.
In March 2024, the government had allocated a monthly sugar quota of 23.5 LMT for domestic sale.
For February 2025, the government allocated a sugar quota of 22.5 LMT.
