According to a letter dated 13th April 2020, the Department of Food and Public Distribution notified sugar mills to submit the report of their export performance till 31.03.2020 by 20th April 2020. Sugar mills were notified to submit the report of their export performance till 31.03.2020 by 3rd April 2020, however the DFPD has notified again through a letter to mills those who have not yet submitted their export performance report. Here, the Government seeks to reallocate additional quota to sugar mills for export.
DFPD notified that, those sugar mills which do not intend to export their MAEQ partly or fully may relinquish the quantity which could not be exported by them by 31.03.2020. In the guidelines issued vide letter dated 18.02.2020 it was notified to sugar mills that, in case sugar mills do not relinquish such unexported quantity by 31.03.2020 and they also fail to export the quantity by 30.09.2020 then such mills would not be entitled for their claim for 3rd and 4th quarter under the scheme for creation and maintenance of buffer stock of sugar of 40 LMT notified by DFPD on 31.07.2019
