Focusing on the Ethanol promotion, the Union government reviewed the ongoing and new ethanol projects set up in Bihar and Assam, reports Zee Business.
The Ministry of Food and Public Distribution reviewed 36 projects in Bihar out of which 5 are already in operation and the remaining will be commissioned in future.
In Assam, five projects are underway and will start operations by the end of this year.
The government is expecting that these new projects will help in meeting the ethanol requirement of the North East.
The 20% Ethanol Blending target of India will be met as several food grain-based distilleries are also being set up in Bihar.
