Hubballi, Karnataka: Farmers and their organisations across the state will gather at a mega convention held at Ulavi in Uttara Kannada district on November 21 to discuss their issues, said State president of Karnataka Raita Sangha and Hasiru Sena B. C. Patil, reports The Hindu.
Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, Patil said that the government should declare FRP of Rs 4,100 per quintal for sugarcane and the sugar mills should bear the harvest charges.
The farmers are facing problems of water scarcity due to the delay in rainfall in the North Karnataka region and the government should declare the region as drought-hit and waive crop loans of farmers, he said.
