Ambala: Government officials across India launched the crackdown on the GST fraud. In the latest action, the Excise and Taxation Department unearthed a case of GST fraud in Ambala Cantonment, Punjab. The scam is said to be worth of 52.42 lakh.
According to the report, the alleged suspect had obtained GST number by getting the firm registered on the fake address.
“Praveen, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, of SK Enterprises had obtained GST number on fake address”, Urmila, ETO, State Tax Ward No. 4, said in her complaint.
As per reports, the company issued sales bills worth Rs 4.89 crore from August 2018 to September 2018. The suspect issued bills and e-way bills of 4.89 crores to an Uttarakhand trader, and the purchaser had also taken the benefits of input tax credit while no tax was submitted by the firm itself.
A case has been registered under various sections of the IPC at Ambala Cantonment police station.
