Hapur: Simbhaoli Sugar Mill may end operations today due to a shortage of sugarcane. The mill’s crushing capacity is 95,000 quintals of sugarcane per day, but it has been receiving less than 50,000 quintals per day, reported Live Hindustan.
The mill has issued three notices to farmers, urging them to supply their sugarcane as soon as possible. However, the supply has not increased.
The main reason for the shortage is that farmers have planted less sugarcane this year.
The mill management has said that it will start crushing operations again as soon as there is a sufficient supply of sugarcane.
