Chandigarh: Cooperative sugar mills from Haryana are exploring the possibilities of modernization to start units for power generation and ethanol and jaggery production. State cooperative minister Banwari Lal has directed the mill administrations to modernise the mills. He was speaking while addressing a meeting of officials of Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills Ltd.
“The mills should take every step to increase efficiency by reducing cost and bring in transparency using information technology,” he said.
He took a review of the crushing season 2019-20 and directed the officials regarding steps to be taken to improve productivity.
The efforts taken by the Haryana government has resulted in increasing the average sugar recovery of the sugar mills and the government is leaving no stone unturned for the better of sugarcane farmers and mills.
