Karnal: Farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Tikait) have demanded a bonus of Rs 25 per quintal on sugarcane SAP, reports Hindustan Times.
Addressing a gathering of farmers at Panipat, Ratan Mann, BKU state president said, “Farmers have been ditched by the government by announcing a hike of Rs 10 per quintal in the state-advised price (SAP). Taking steps to provide relief to the farmers, the government should immediately announce a bonus of Rs 25 per quintal as the farmers are suffering due to poor yield caused by pest attack on the crop.”
