After Punjab, Haryana has decided to increase the sugarcane price. It comes as a big relief for the cane growers.
Haryana Agriculture Minister Jai Parkash Dalal announcing the hike in sugarcane price said, “In last 4 years, sugarcane rate was Rs 310/quintal in Punjab. Since polls are nearing, they’ve increased it to Rs 360/quintal. Sugarcane rate in Haryana was at Rs 350/quintal, which has now been increased to Rs 362/quintal, highest in the country.”

He said, “When Punjab increased the rate of Sugarcane, farmer leaders met the Punjab CM and presented him with sweets. Now, they should meet our chief minister also with sweets.”
“The people who are trying to play politics in the name of farmers should at least once present sweets to our CM (ML Khattar) for increasing the rate of sugarcane, which is now highest in the country,” minister further added on farmers’ agitation in Karnal.
