Haryana: Naraingarh farmers hopeful for resolution of sugar mill issues with CM Saini’s return

Ambala: With Nayab Singh Saini returning as Chief Minister, sugarcane farmers in Naraingarh are optimistic that long-standing problems related to Naraingarh Sugar Mills will soon be resolved, including the clearing of overdue payments.

During a Jan Ashirwad Rally held in Naraingarh before the elections, Saini voiced his concerns about Naraingarh Sugar Mills Ltd.’s delayed payments to farmers. He also pledged to establish a cooperative sugar mill if re-elected.

While some farmers remain uncertain about the promise of a new cooperative mill, they believe that the Chief Minister should prioritize improving the management of the existing mills. The mills have been under government supervision since 2019, and many farmers feel that better management could address the ongoing issues.

Rajiv Sharma, spokesperson for the BKU (Charuni), stated, “The crushing season is starting next month, but we still have around Rs 22 crore in unpaid dues from last season, which ended in March. Since the Chief Minister is from Naraingarh, we are hopeful he will solve our problems and find a lasting solution.”
