Palwal: The cooperative sugar mill in Palwal halted its crushing operations due to a technical breakdown. The mill, which began its crushing season on November 15, developed a snag recently, reported Tribune India.
The technical breakdown has impacted farmers from four districts – Palwal, Nuh, Faridabad, and Gurugram – who rely on the mill to process their sugarcane crops.
This is not the first time the Palwal sugar mill has experienced technical difficulties. A similar breakdown occurred during the last season, but later started the operations smoothly.
Despite the disruption, mill officials are hopeful that operations will resume by November 26. “Though the mill has stopped operations due to technical breakdown, we are expecting that the mill would resume operations by November 26,” said Shashi Vasundhara, MD of the sugar mill.
