Panipat sugar mill completes the first trial

Panipat: The first trial of the newly constructed Panipat Co-operative Sugar Mill was successfully completed on Wednesday, reports Tribune India. The mill would become operational with its full capacity soon, said the officials attached with the mill. This would provide much relief to the sugarcane farmers that are now forced to sell their cane to the jaggery units and nearby sugar mills at a low rate.

On December 20, 2014, CM Manohar Lal Khattar had announced to shift the mill from the city area to Dahar village during his first visit to Panipat after he took the charge of CM.

Deputy Commissioner Sushil Kumar Sarwan who inspected the trial said that the sugar mill was ultra-modern and its capacity has been increased to 50,000 quintals per day from 18,000 quintals per day.

Navdeep Singh, MD, sugar mill said that the mill successfully crushed 10,000 quintal sugarcane during a successful trial.

As per the protocol, the trial would continue for 25 days with the daily crushing of 10,000 quintals, he said.
