Chandigarh, May 28 (UNI) Haryana government on Tuesday has released Rs 350 crore to the cooperative sugar mills to provide major relief to sugarcane farmers for paying off the arrears of sugarcane for the crushing season of 2018-19.
Giving this information here, Minister of State for Co-operation, Mr Manish Grover said that out of total Rs 350 crore, Rs 39 crore has been released to Cooperative Sugar Mills, Panipat, Rs 39.50 crore to Cooperative Sugar Mills, Rohtak, Rs 26.50 crore to Cooperative Sugar Mills, Karnal, Rs 35.50 crore to Cooperative Sugar Mills, Sonipat, Rs 38 crore to Cooperative Sugar Mills, Shahabad and Rs 28 crore to Cooperative Sugar Mills, Jind.
Similarly, Rs 30.50 crore to Cooperative Sugar Mills, Palwal, Rs 48 crore to Cooperative Sugar Mills, Meham, Rs 36 crore to Cooperative Sugar Mills, Kaithal and Rs 29 crore to Cooperative Sugar Mills, Gohana, he added.
During the crushing season 2018-19, he said, 355.17 lakh quintals of cane was purchased for Rs 1,206.22 crore. Till date, payments of Rs 1,098.38 crore had been made and outstanding dues would be paid in the next coming week, he noted.
Moreover, he said that the interest of farmers is priority of the state government and it would ensure that no sugarcane farmer face any kind of difficulty.
