Yamunanagar: Saraswati Sugar Mills (SSM) has achieved a significant milestone in the sugar industry by commencing the production of invert liquid sugar.
SSM Chief Executive SK Sachdeva and management member Naina Puri officially inaugurated the new production line, marking a first for Haryana and Punjab. Saraswati Sugar Mills, one of the largest in the country, is now the region’s pioneer in producing liquid sugar.
According to Sachdeva, the new plant for invert liquid sugar was established by the Indian Sugar and General Engineering Corporation (ISGEC) in a remarkably short time, with an investment of approximately Rs 3 crore.
“This is a major step forward for the sugar industry. Alongside refined sugar production, we will now offer invert liquid sugar in various packaging options such as bottles, containers, and drums, making it more accessible for consumers,” said Sachdeva.
DP Singh, Senior Vice-President (Cane) of SSM, assured that the invert liquid sugar would be packaged for consumer convenience and meet the quality standards set by the Food Safety and Standards Act.
“The quality of our liquid sugar will be in line with national food safety regulations,” Singh said.
Recently, SSM was honoured with the prestigious ‘Excellence Award for Producing the Best Quality Refined Sugar’ by the Sugar Technologists Association of India at the 34th session of the International Commission for Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis (ICUMSA) in New Delhi.
The event saw the presence of several key officials, including Satyavir Singh, Sudhir Chandna, Rajiv Mishra, Sanjay Jain, YP Singh, Deepak Kumar Miglani, Kamal Kumar Kapoor, and Sameer Arya.
