Kurukshetra: The Shahabad Cooperative Sugar Mills Ltd (SCSM) began its 40th cane-crushing season on Friday. according to tribuneindia.
The mill has implemented an advanced token system to ensure that there are no delays in unloading sugarcane stocks, said Ramkaran Kala, chairman of the Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills Limited and Shahabad MLA.
In the previous crushing season, the mill crushed 74.24 lakh quintals of sugarcane and produced 7.75 lakh quintals of sugar, said deputy commissioner Shantanu Sharma. The mill also achieved a sugar recovery rate of 10.44% and exported 4.63 crore units of electricity, generating Rs 18.51 crore in revenue.
For the current season, SCSM has set a target to crush 74 lakh quintals of sugarcane and produce 8.8 lakh quintals of sugar, with a sugar recovery rate of 10.75%. The mill also aims to export 5 crore units of electricity.
