Sonipat, Haryana: The Sonipat cooperative sugar mill has set a new record in the state by achieving a sugar recovery rate of 11.60 per cent in a single day, reported Amar Ujala.
The mill, which began its current crushing season on November 27, 2023, has a crushing capacity of 22,000 quintals of sugarcane per day. So far, there have been only 65 hours of downtime during the season, which has resulted in a significantly improved recovery rate.
The mill has crushed about 23.03 lakh quintals of sugarcane so far and aims to complete the crushing target by the end of April.
This is the first time in 45 years that the Sonipat sugar mill has achieved a recovery rate of 11.60% in a single day. Till now, the sugar recovery rate was 10.16 per cent (to date).
