Mumbai: With the heavy rain in Mumbai and various parts of Maharashtra, the lives came to a standstill as rainwater entered into houses. The rain has been progressing with a good pace over Maharashtra and resulting in heavy rainfall.
According to the forecast, wet conditions are expected to persist in the coming days in South Madhya Maharashtra. According to officials, heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places with extremely heavy at isolated places in Ghat areas of Satara and Kolhapur districts between September 6 to September 9.
Recently, when the state was hit by heavy rain, then it almost paralysed the major affected districts, and also many people died due to rain-related accidents. Not just Maharashtra, even other states witnessed the fury of heavy rain. As per reports, more than 1,000 people have lost their lives due to heavy rain and flood. Flood not only claimed lives but it also caused damage to the properties, crops and others worth thousands of crores. Alone in Maharashtra, damages worth rupees 10,000 crore were reported due to the closure of industries, severe damage of crops, and others.
