High Court issues stay order on leasing of sugar mill: Media Report

Bengaluru: Pandavapura Sahakara Sakkare Kharkane (PSSK) was scheduled to begin crushing of sugarcane on August 1. But now, Karnataka HC issued a stay of leasing the sugar mill to Nirani Sugars Company.

According to the news report published in Deccan Herald, questioning the 40-year lease, the management board of NSL Sugars, Koppa had filed a writ petition before the high court. They sought a stay order, alleging that the government had taken an unilateral decision over the contract issue of the sugar factory. The high court, which heard the appeal, issued a stay order.

Earlier interacting with the Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) at Patrakarthara Bhavan Murugesh Nirani, Chairman of Nirani Sugar Group said that he is determined to bring the past glory of the mill.
