Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Thursday said that India, as the largest producer of milk, rice, sugar, and more, has a huge opportunity in processing and marketing these products. With a massive domestic market and global demand, we can uplift our people and feed the world.
On the inauguration of ‘World Food India 2024’ he emphasized that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has placed significant emphasis on the food processing sector.
He spoke about the importance of branding, packaging, and ensuring quality to promote the food processing sector and make India a food basket for the world.
The World Food India event promises to be a major convergence of innovation, technology, and sustainability in the food processing sector.
The event will feature over 40 knowledge sessions, including thematic discussions and state- and country-specific conferences. Additionally, industry-led panel discussions with over 100 CXOs from global agri-food companies will also be held.
