Jakarta: Pertamina, a state-owned oil and gas firm will start selling its new bioethanol fuel product in 17 gas stations in Jakarta and East Java on a trial basis in the third week of July, reports Jakarta Post.
The new fuel product of Pertamina has a mixture of 5% bioethanol produced from sugarcane waste product molasses and Pertamax, gasoline having a research octane number (RON) of 92.
Pertamina said that the fuel will have an RON of 95 and it has decided to name the product Pertamax Green 95- even though 95% of the mixture comes from fossil fuel.
