Mumbai: Mukesh Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Industries Limited aims to boost the startups in India. During the 42nd RIL annual general meeting (AGM) on August 12, Ambani announced free internet services for budding startups.
Ambani said, “Jio is a startup built in India, for India, by Indians and we have a special place in our hearts for startups. You may know 80% of the cost of running a startup goes towards cloud and connectivity infrastructure. And Jio would take away the cost by making the cloud infrastructure free for budding startups.”
He urged all startups to enroll for their custom-designed package on Jio.com, and this service will be available from Jan 1, 2020. Ambani is also ready to invest in the startups which have the capacity to address India’s big needs in healthcare, agriculture, education and skill development.
He also announced the launching of commercial home broadband plans under Jio Giga Fiber from September 5, 2019.
