karnataka: Sugarcane carrying truck plunges into Bhima river, driver missing

Kalaburgi, karnataka: A sugarcane truck plunged into the Bhima River from a bridge early Tuesday morning, December 31, reported Udayavani.com.

The incident occurred between Itaga and Ganagapur as the truck headed toward a sugar factory near Choudapur in Afzalpur taluk. Witnesses said the vehicle suddenly veered off the bridge and fell into the river below.

Authorities have not yet located the driver, and officials suspect the water may have swept him away. Efforts to trace him are still underway.

Local police, led by Circle Police Inspector Channayya Hiremar and Sub-Inspector Rahul Pawade and fire department personnel, have launched rescue operations to retrieve the truck and locate the missing driver.
