Kazakhstan’s Agriculture Minister, Yerbol Karashukeyev said that there won’t be any hike in the sugar prices and the country has enough stock to meet the local demand.
Addressing the traditional meeting of the Government, the minister stated that the sugar prices in the country are stable at KZT 400-500 per kilo despite the hike in the global sugar prices.
He said, “The production of sugar in May will be around 32-35,000 tonnes and in June it would increase to 40-45 tonnes which is enough to meet the domestic demand and there is no need to hike the sugar prices.
The global trend would decide about the fall in the sugar prices further.”
According to reports, the country had imposed a 6-month ban on sugar exports starting from May 23.
