After the outbreak of Coronavirus, Kazakhstan had imposed ban on sugar and other products export to ensure enough supply in the domestic market. But, now the country is ready to lift the ban from the month of July.
According to the local media reports, Agriculture Minister Saparkhan Omarov said, “We had put restrictions on the sugar export due to the lockdown imposed amid Covid-19 threat. The situation is returning to normalcy. The restrictions were temporary in nature and we have started lifting the ban to facilitate the export of sugar and other commodities. The export will start from June 1.”
Agriculture including sugar production remains an important source of income for Kazakhstan.
