Taldykorgan: The regional administration has stated that the Aksu-based sugar plan has set a target to process 80,000 tons of sugar beet this year and the region is expected to harvest up to 100,000 tons of sugar beet, reports inform.kz.
The region has planted 8,000 hectares of sugar beet this year. The area would reach 15,000 hectares as per the Presidential instructions.
The area under sugar beet would be gradually expanded in Aksu, Alakol and Sarkand districts. The plants will process sugarcane during the off-season and will be operating throughout the year.
