Pune: Sugarcane crushing season in Maharashtra is in the final stage and the mills are shutting down their operations after completing cane crushing. As per the report released by the sugar commissionerate as many as 68 sugar mills in the state have closed their operations which include 33 sugar mills from the Solapur division and 17 from the Kolhapur division till March 27, 2021. The sugar mills in Kolhapur have recorded a 11.97 per cent recovery till date.
Total 37 sugar mills from Kolhapur had participated in the cane crushing activities during the ongoing crushing season.
