Khadda, Kushinagar: A fire broke out in the Babu Tola Sareh area of Karadh village on Friday due to unknown reasons. Nearly five acres of sugarcane crops belonging to four farmers were engulfed in flames. The fire brigade along with residents managed to extinguish the fire. Vinod Singh, a resident of Ahirauli village, owns a field in Karadh Babu Tola Sareh, reported Amar Ujala.
It is reported that a week ago, some intoxicated youths had entered Virendra Singh’s field and were chased away. On Friday, a fire broke out in his sugarcane field. The fire quickly spread to the neighboring fields of Angad Singh and Muslim Ansari, destroying their crops as well.
Despite considerable difficulty, the fire brigade, with the assistance of villagers, managed to bring the fire under control.
The affected farmers have expressed concerns about the possibility of arson in their fields by miscreants.
