Lakhimpur Kheri: District Magistrate Mahendra Bahadur Singh held a meeting with the presidents and finance managers of the sugar mills (Gola, Paliya, and Khambarkheda) and the Govind sugar mill Aira on Saturday to discuss the early payment of outstanding sugarcane dues, reported Live Hindustan.
The meeting was conducted by District Cane Officer Ved Prakash. The DM expressed displeasure over the payment status of sugar mills. He directed them to make payments as soon as possible.
In response, the finance managers of the sugar mills said that sugarcane dues are being paid according to the sugar sales as per the quota fixed by the Government of India.
The DM directed them to make payments from other sources besides sugar and by-products.
