Paris: Ludwig de Mot has been appointed as the new chief executive of Tereos, the French sugar and ethanol maker, said the company.
He is succeeding Philippe de Raynat who left the company in February after completing one year of tenure.
The world’s second-largest sugar producer has large operations in Brazil and the company is reshuffling its top management.
The group’s spokeswoman said that for the first time the company has appointed a non-French to lead the cooperative. De Mot will join the company on April 7.
“His experience in the industrial sector would help Tereos to progress and achieve the set targets by accelerating production at various sites and increasing profitability,” said the statement issued by Tereos.
A 58-year old Belgian, De Mot was earlier working as a manager in charge of transformation at airport services group Swissport. He was also a board member and had held executive positions in the mineral production, packaging industries, and maintenance services.
