Madurai: Government is working on plans to resume National Cooperative Sugar Mill. Regarding this, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister M.R.K. Panneerselvam will hold meeting with the various stakeholders including farmers’ associations, workers. A meeting has been called on on June 25 to discuss the issue.
Farmers and workers are demanding the government to resume the operations at the mill which is located at Alanganallur in the Madurai district.
Several agitations and demonstrations were organized by farmers and workers demanding the revival of the sugar mill and also they have submitted memorandums of their demands regarding the issue.
