Pune: Sugarcane crushing season in Maharashtra is in the final phase and 11 sugar mills are still operating.
According to the state sugarcane commissionerate, total 190 sugar mills participated in the cane crushing operations and have produced 109.39 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 1009.61 lakh tonne sugarcane with a recovery of 10.49 per cent.
Sugar mills from all the major divisions have closed their operations which include 43 sugar mills from Solapur, 37 from Kolhapur, 26 from Nanded, 28 from Pune 22 from Ahmednagar, 18 from Aurangabad and 2 from Nanded including 3 from Nagpur.
