Pune: Leader of the Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Ajit Pawar has demanded that the state government should immediately announce a relief of Rs 75,000 per hectare to the farmers in rain-hit districts that have lost their crops due to the recent rainfall.
He was speaking while he was on a four-day tour of the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions that were affected by heavy rains in the past fortnight.
As per media reports, Pawar said that about 25,000 hectares of cropland in Gadchiroli and 63,000 hectares in Chandrapur are affected due to incessant rains.
