Maharashtra government to set up new project to eradicate drought

Beed, Jun 26 (UNI) Minister for Employment Guarantee Scheme and Horticulture Jayadatta Kshirsagar on Sunday asserted that the Central Government and the State Government have taken the priority to set up a permanent solution to eradicate the drought of Marathwada by diverting wastage water into the basin of Godavari and Sindafana rivers.

After taking oath, the newly inducted minister hailing from Beed district today visited the fodder camp at eight villages here.

He was interacted with the present farmers and villagers on his visit.

ZP member Ganpat Doifode, former MLA Badamrao Pandit, Jagdish Kale, Dilip Gore, Vilas Badge, Arun Dake, Kundalik Khandey, Bappa Saheb Ghuge, Nitin Dhande among others were present.

Mr Kshirsagar said that the state government has taken the drought issue in a top priority basis and assured all the help from his side.

Apart from drought, he said, the farmers are facing many problems and the government is also trying to solve out those by implementing the schemes like Horticulture, Silk Plantation and Horticulture schemes through Employment Guarantee Scheme and Horticulture Department.

Notably, Mr Kshirsagar, the heavyweight politician and former minister in NCP-Congress led past state government from Beed district recently deserted from NCP and joined Shiv Sena.
