Mills in Maharashtra have increased their pace of sugar production with the total output reaching to 370 lakh quintals till December 21, 2021.
Total 186 sugar mills are operating in the state and they have crushed 388.71 lakh tonne sugarcane by producing 369.81 lakh quintals sugar with a recovery rate of 9.51 per cent.
Solapur division is leading in the state with maximum (43) sugar mills participating in the cane crushing operations. The mills have produced 80.48 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 93.61 lakh tonne sugarcane with a recovery rate of 8.60 per cent.
Kolhapur division has surpassed the sugar recovery rate of 10% during the ongoing crushing season. The mills from the Kolhapur division have produced 103.86 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 96.03 lakh tonne sugarcane with a recovery rate of 10.82 per cent.
