Aurangabad: Cane crushing operations with full capacity in Maharashtra likely to start by November 10, reports PTI.
The prolonged monsoon has delayed the crushing activities in the state which normally begin in mid-October.
This season, it is expected that 203 sugar mills would participate in cane crushing operations as against 200 during last season and so far 73 mills have obtained permission to start operations.
The sugarcane production in the state is estimated to reach 1,343 lakh tons as against 1,321 lakh tons in the 2021-22 season and sugar output is likely to increase to 138 lakh tons against 137 lakh tons during the last season.
