As per sources, the Union Cabinet is expected to approve a policy to boost exports of agriculture commodities such as tea, coffee and rice and increase the country’s share in global agri-trade in a meeting today. It is also known that the Govt. may give an additional loan for ethanol production plants. For ethanol production plants, about 110 mills are yet to be given loans. A proposal to provide a bank guarantee of about Rs.7000 crores to install these ethanol plants has been proposed to the Govt. The decision on this is likely to be announced in this meeting today.
