Bagpat: Malakpur Sugar Mill has assured farmers that instead of February 28, the pending cane dues will be cleared by March 15, reports Amar Ujala.
Farmers had launched an agitation demanding clearance of pending cane dues from the mill and the agitation was called off after the officials assured them to clear dues by February 28. The mill owes dues worth Rs 150 crore for the previous season and Rs 250 crore for the ongoing season.
Now the mill administration has assured us to clear cane dues by March 15.
District Cane Officer Dr. Anil Kumar Bharati said that the government is increasing pressure on the mill to clear pending cane dues and the mill has agreed to clear dues by March 15.
