Mumbai: Markets ended the year on a weak note as Nifty slips below 12,200 and Sensex down over 300 points. Sensex closed on December 31, 2019, at 304.26 points lower at 41,253.74. Similarly, Nifty ended 87.40 points up at 12,168.45.
NTPC, Tata Motors and Sun Pharma were among the top gainers today. While Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Auto and Reliance Industries were among the top losers today.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on December 30, 2019, at 17.14 points lower at 41,558.00. Similarly, Nifty ended 10.05 points up at 12,255.85.
The rupee is trading at 71.329 against the dollar.
