Mumbai: Sensex on Friday was trading 15.89 points lower at 40,559.28, while NSE Nifty slipped 20.45 points at 11,947.95 in morning trade.
Similarly, at 10:15 am, Sensex was trading at 40,450.45 points, and Nifty was trading at 11,930.20 points.
Sun Pharma, NTPC, PowerGrid, RIL were among the top gainers.
Infosys, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Bharti Airtel, and Bajaj Auto were among the top losers today.
On the currency front, the rupee appreciated 4 paise (intra-day) against the US dollar to trade at 71.72 in early session.
