Mumbai: Sensex on Friday was trading 158.97 points lower at 40,971.20, while NSE Nifty slipped 38.45 points at 12,112.70 in morning trade.
Similarly, at 10:15 am, Sensex was trading at 40891.52 points, and Nifty was trading at 12091.10 points.
Yes Bank, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra, NTPC and Axis Bank were among the top gainers.
Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank and Infosys were among the top losers today.
On the currency front, the rupee depreciated 9 paise against the US dollar to trade at 71.71 in early session.
