Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati urged the Uttar Pradesh government to help farmers affected by a weak monsoon this season.
The BSP chief tweeted on a microblogging website on Thursday about the plight of farmers.
1. अपनी उपज का लाभकारी मूल्य व गन्ना बकाया आदि नहीं मिल पाने से यूपी का किसान समाज पहले से ही काफी दुखी व परेशान है तथा कमजोर मानसून ने अब उनकी चिन्ताएं और भी बढ़ा दी है। किसानों को ऐसी विकट स्थिति से निकालने हेतु सरकार हर स्तर पर उनकी मदद तत्काल शुरू करे, बीएसपी की यह माँग।

She said, “Farmers of Uttar Pradesh are already in distress as they are not getting sugarcane arrears and remunerative prices for their produce. A weak monsoon now has increased their worries even more. The government should immediately start helping these farmers to get them out of such a dire situation. This is the demand of the BSP”.
