Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers in Meerut under the banner of Rashtriya Kissan Mazdoor Sanghatan launched sit-in agitation at Tehsil office on Wednesday demanding hike in the sugarcane purchase price to Rs 450 per quintal.
Farmers under the banner of Choudhari Jitendra Singh have launched an agitation for their several demands including reduction of power bills and payment of pending cane arrears. They have submitted the memorandum of their demands to the SDM.
