Lakhimpur Khera: Sugar industry is suffering from financial distress, and exploring new ways to get rid of surplus sugar stock and mounting cane arrears. Getting into retail marketing is one of the measures sugar mill is finding viable.
According to the report published in a leading news website, Gobind Sugar Mill of Lakhimpur Khera, Uttar Pradesh, commenced exporting small packaging of refinery sugar to foreign countries.
“The export of refined sugar will improve the financial condition of the sugar mill, which is struggling from financial scarcity. Also, it will help in payment of pending cane arrears”, sugar mill official said.
After the production of sugar in Gobind Sugar Mill, for the first time packaging of one and five kilograms of refined sugar will be exported to Qatar country. It will be shipped to Qatar via Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, Mumbai.
