Thanabhavan: Sugar mills are suffering from financial scarcity due to low sugar sales after the lockdown was imposed to stop the spread of coronavirus. With this, sugarcane arrears are also piling in Uttar Pradesh.
Sugarcane Minister Suresh Rana on Sunday chaired a meeting with police administration and mill officials in Thanabhawan town. He directed mill officials to expedite the payment of sugarcane so that the farmers do not have to face any kind of financial troubles.
The minister appealed everyone to be vigilant due to coronavirus and maintain social distancing while executing their work. He also asked mills to operate until all sugarcane from field gets cleared.
