Roorkee, Uttarakhand: Deshraj Karnawal, MLA from Jhabreda constituency met Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Thursday and urged him to ensure that the sugar mills clear pending cane arrears.
According to the news report published in Jagran.com, he said, “The sugarcane farmers are facing financial distress and planning to stage a demonstration if cane dues are not paid.
“Sugar mills are not clearing the pending cane arrears, therefore the government should intervene and ask mills to clear the dues. CM has asked the concerned officials to take action on this and ensure farmers get their dues”, he further added.
