MLA raises issue of pending cane dues during assembly session

Lucknow: BJP MLA Devendra Nim from the Rampur Maniharan constituency raised the issue of pending cane dues during the legislative session in Lucknow, reports Live Hindustan.

He also raised the issue of the release of chemically contaminated water into the Hindon River by factories.

Addressing the house under Rule 301, the MLA stated that factories from Saharanpur are discharging chemically contaminated water into the Hindon River, which flows through the Ramapur Maniharan region. This situation has led to grave health concerns for the rural population. He emphasized the need to halt the discharge of chemically contaminated water into the river.

Ganganoli Sugar Mills, located in the region, has not fulfilled the pending payments to farmers for their sugarcane, leading to significant issues for the local farmers, said the MLA. He urged for the payment of the pending cane dues immediately for the welfare of the farmers and the region.
